Software defined intercom system

Vitavic 400 is a full mil spec, sophisticated and reliable technical solution for tactical communications both inside and outside all military, paramilitary and light strike armoured vehicles and platforms. Vitavic 400 is also the optimum solution for main battle tanks and other platforms’ end users who have, or wish to have the choice to use a number of different tactical headsets and combat net radios (CNR’s) as required for any particular operation.

Vitavic 400 provides the crew of any vehicle or platform with safe, highly intelligible and reliable command and communications in urban warfare. Vitavic 400 is a true, fully software defined; combat proven digital intercom incorporating effective digital audio signal processing.

Tactical battlefield communications system

The Outacom Communication System is an extremely rugged, powerful, military proven, loudspeaker and multiple speech input system. The Outacom Communication Systems integrates with all standard internal communication systems and offers an easily-implemented tactical battlefield communications innovation. The purpose of this communications system is to reduce the risk of unintended civilian or military casualties and the risk of needless collateral damage. The Outacom Communications System allows vehicle commanders and other authorised personnel the tactical ability to talk to people up to 250 meters from the vehicle or fixed military installation.

Loudhailer/main broadcast loudspeaker and intercom units

Loudhailer/main broadcast loudspeaker and intercom units are current Royal Navy stock items in service above and below deck. Loudhailer/main broadcast loudspeaker and intercom units are suitable for applications in noisy areas, such as propulsion machinery and helicopter loading bays plus a loudhailer application. These loudspeakers are water and shockproof IP67 and 70G force. Loudhailer/main broadcast loudspeaker and intercom units are able to withstand close proximity explosions, heat and blasts. The design has also been utilised in the Outacom Communication System (122dB at 1m. Range to 200m) having been fully type tested to withstand repeated close proximity explosions, heat and blasts, the ideal unit to mount on any military platform.

Noryl and waterproof handheld microphones

Type B90 noryl waterproof handheld microphones, with press-to-speak switch, are fully watertight (except for the noise-cancelling version) and proof against shock and vibration. Noryl waterproof handheld microphones are specifically designed to accommodate different types of microphone inset.

Type B60 rugged waterproof handheld microphones are supplied for use where handling in exposed conditions and an intrinsically safe environment is a requirement. Waterproof handheld microphones can withstand heavy handling, complete saltwater immersion and are ATEX approved.

3 inch 4 watt rugged, waterproof, blast proof and shockproof loudspeaker units

3 inch 4 watt rugged, waterproof, blast proof and shockproof loudspeaker units are designed to deliver clear speech in hostile and noisy environments. Three basic types of 3 inch 4 watt rugged, waterproof, blast proof and shockproof loudspeaker units are available in either 8 or 15 Ohms. All the units are designed for usage where a loudspeaker capable of withstanding constant vibration and sudden shock is required. The lightweight version can be used in tight enclosures where space is at a premium. Both standard and lightweight versions are configured in reverse polarity. A low magnetic version has been introduced for systems requiring a reduced magnetic field signature, such as on mine hunters.

3 inch 4 watt rugged, waterproof, blast proof and shock proof loudspeaker units can also be used for speech or tone burst sound, capable of handling considerable overloads above their 4 watt rating.

Battery-powered emergency handsets

Multiple emergency handsets can form a stand alone, non-interfering communication channel and can be configured for different purposes. Up to 50 handsets can be connected on one emergency circuit. Each emergency handset has approximately twelve hours of constant use which includes a battery indicator diode. Emergency handsets are self-powered and RICE compatible handsets are also available.
