Profile

SAES – Sonar Systems, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Systems, Naval Mines and Surveillance Systems

S.A. de Electronica-Submarina develops leading underwater battlespace electronic equipment to meet the challenges posed in maritime-security, coastal-surveillance and anti-submarine warfare. Our range of products includes:

  • Sonar Systems.
  • Anti-Submarine Warfare systems.
  • Airborne Sonobuoy Acoustics Processing Systems
  • Mines and Multi-influence Measurements Station.
  • Maritime coastal-surveillance and harbour-protection.
  • Land Based Systems for Analysis, Simulation and Training.

SUBMARINE SONAR SYSTEMS

SAES specialises in study, design and manufacture of electronics and sonar systems for both military and commercial markets. SAES undertakes a wide range of development, manufacturing and support task, including:

  • Long-range digital towed array sonar for submarines SOLARSUB-DTAS
  • Submarine cylindrical array sonar modernization SOCILSUB
  • Diver detection system DAB-3
  • Sonar performance prediction system SPPS
  • Own noise measurement systems for ships and submarines CRV-ONMS

AIRBORNE SONOBUOY ACOUSTIC SYSTEMS

Building on years of expertise in acoustic processing, SAES has developed a complete family of airborne Sonobuoy Processing Acoustic System, called SPAS, that covers all MPA/Helo ASW operation.

SPAS is fully integrated with the MPA/Helo Mission System and offers the Acoustic Sensor Operators with the means to detect, classify, localize, and track submarines and surface shipping, based on analysis of sonobuoys acoustic signals.

The SPAS is able to operate up to 32 of the most advanced digital and analogue Sonobuoys, fully integrated with others equipments as Sonobuoy Receivers, UHF-Radio, Audio Recorders and Data Link to conform a complete ASW Subsystem.

FAST TIME ANALIZER SYSTEM

The SAES Fast Time Analyzer System – FTAS , is the indispensable tool to perform a fast-time post-mission acoustic signal analysis.

The FTAS System provides reproduction from analogue or digital record medias according with the STANAG 4283 and simultaneously processing acoustic signals up to a maximum of 32 acoustic channels, at real time speed, fast analysis and slow, to support post-mission intelligence analysis and training.

The system includes different tools and graphic presentations allowing ground confirmation of recorded contacts and retrieval of non-detected contacts during the operation, as well as to classify new contacts. These new acoustic signatures can be stored on digital format with the aim to build an acoustic intelligence database (ACINT).

ASW AND TECHNICAL ASISTANCE

SAES has a complete services business line for technical assistance and support services on submarine and ASW which allow companies, defense services and systems integrators to analyze, define, manage, integrate and test submarine and antisubmarine combat systems without loosing the control of the project. The services can be provided from our facilities with the maximum degree of confidentiality or even in customer facilities if project specificity so required.

MINES AND MULTI-INFLUENCE MEASUREMENT STATION

Based on a wide range of sensors and sophisticated algorithms, SAES has developed a complete set of Mines and Multi-influence measurement station, being a reference leader in the world market:

  • The underwater Multi-influence measurement system – UMIMS, is a high-performance measurement station allowing the measurement and recording of the complete signature ship:
    • Five Multi-influence sensors.
    • Wireless Controlled.
    • Easy deployment and retrieval
  • The naval mines series MINEA (Exercise) and MINCOA (Combat) are the most advanced naval mines under manufacturing nowdays, and comprises three kind of naval mines: cylindrical bottom-mine, conical shape shallow-water and moored-mine:
    • Triaxial magnetic, electric and seismic sensors.
    • Acoustic and pressure sensor.
    • Acoustic link.
    • Programmable self-recovery, data collection and recording capability (exercise version).
  • Limpet Mine MILA-6C, is a smart computer controlled time-fuzzed underwater limpet mine:
    • Low hydro-dynamic resistance.
    • Attaching by magnets or nail shooters .
    • Electronic time-fuze and programmable firing .
    • Anti-removal device.
    • Exercise&Combat version.

MIRS – Multi Influence Range System

When operating in the modern naval environment a vessel is subjected to numerous detection threats due to its various influence signatures. The threats to the operation of a vessel close to the shore can be significantly different to those of deep-water operation. Apart from the obvious threat of operating in an environment where movement of the ship is restricted and which is cluttered with radar and sonar images, littoral water operation involves operation in waters that can change various signatures of the ships by a substantial degree from that found in deep water…

ARAS-The Spanish Fast Time Analyzer System

It is well known that an Acoustic Intelligence Database (ACINT) is fundamental to support ASW and naval missions. The ACINT is built from the analysis of the raw data recorded from acoustic sensors onboard submarines, surface ships and ASW aircrafts. The analysis of this data is performed by means of Fast Time Analyzer Systems (FTAS)…

MINCOA – The Spanish Advanced Multi – Influence Naval Mine

The naval mines MINCOA and their exercise versions MINEA, are the most advanced naval mines under manufacturing nowadays. The family of MINCOA/MINEA products comprises three kinds of naval mines: cylindrical bottom mine, conical shape shallow water mine and moored deep water mine…
